AI & The Workplace

The million-dollar question everyone is asking themselves: What does AI look like for our industry? At this point, we need to look at what benefits AI has to offer because it’s coming full steam and it’s here to stay.

Vautier Communications is excited to announce a new partnership with Yoodli to provide professionals with private, real-time communication coaching using generative AI. What an opportunity!

Over the last 20 years, Vautier Communications has worked with hundreds of thousands of individuals to improve their communication skills and executive presence, along with their writing and listening skills. Our goal has always been to provide an immediately actionable skillset that helps empower others to feel more confident and be more successful.

The ability to partner with a team that is on the cutting edge of leveraging technology and in-the-moment coaching in a self-paced environment was an easy decision.

Yoodli, a Seattle-based company, helps individuals improve their communications skills using AI. It’s been rolled out in more than 150 countries by Toastmasters International, leading business schools, and hundreds of thousands of leaders globally. Users can get in-the-moment coaching during online meetings or, they can practice for an upcoming speech or conversation individually. Yoodli will then generate feedback on the content, conciseness, and speaking attributes such as their executive presence, reliance on filler words, and pacing.

The analytics share what’s been said and where there’s room for growth in an unbiased, direct, and honest way. Vautier Communications has always encouraged clients to video record themselves because the video never lies. While it might be uncomfortable, someone can watch it back and see what worked and what they’d like to change. Sometimes, you may look at a video recording and say, “I didn’t love what I saw, but I don’t know what to do differently.” Without a coach, you don’t have anything tangible to change. The additional benefit of Yoodli and its AI capabilities is you now have a “coach” with you at any time.

Recording yourself is great for practice. The camera never lies or judges!

Rest assured, our coaching philosophy and learn-by-doing approach with our clients will continue with the added opportunity for continued practice and skill development post-program with Yoodli. In addition to the normal way of engaging with us, we’ll have further benefits like:

·        Being able to record yourself and get continued immediate feedback through Yoodli for 3 months just like you experienced in the program

·        Sending your Yoodli recording and feedback to one of our coaches for additional feedback from them

·        Engaging with clients whose budget doesn’t fit a 1:1 or group session – this way they still receive plenty of feedback and coaching through a different lens

Many people worry that AI will take over the jobs we currently occupy. We aren’t worried about that because when it comes to communication, there are still plenty of nuances and situations where the setting, the audience, and the purpose of the message might change why we do or don’t do something. This is where a live coach cannot be replaced. But there are plenty of times when a little extra help and guidance can put someone back on the right track, and that’s where AI comes into play. Offering a variety of ways to interact with our client base is the change we’re most excited about. We’re adding another tool to the toolbelt, and are confident those who engage with us will see the benefit.

Thank you, Varun and Esha, of Yoodli, for creating this environment where learning and development can happen asynchronously. We’re excited to be a part of the movement!
