Meet the Team

Since 2004, we’ve been coaching at both public and private companies in the U.S. and around the world. We have coached in every industry, at every level, and in every situation imaginable - with a couple that would challenge the imagination! The common threads between us are the quality and consistency of our coaching, our practice of always meeting the client where they are, and our ability to create an encouraging culture which you will enjoy.

John M. Vautier | Founder & President, Retired Coach

John has had a love and admiration for communication his whole life. Growing up as a restaurant cook, beach lifeguard, and Hockey dorm RA, he quickly learned just how powerful this tool is. He began his communications career in 1985 with Communispond, finishing as an Executive Coach and the Vice President of Sales for North America. When Communispond was bought a final time in 2003, John fell back on his expertise and training and founded Vautier Communications in 2004.

He has coached clients across a wide variety of industries and at every level within organizations. His clients have taken him across the US, to Mexico, Canada, Denmark, Singapore, and Bahrain, to name a few. John has a notebook full of amazing accomplishments, but one of his most notable was being a featured speaker for the Loss Prevention Foundation, National Retail Federation, and Investment Management Consultants Association. He also co-authored Vautier Communications’ first book, Speak As Well As You Think, with his son, John J.

John officially retired from coaching in 2021 and moved to Venice, FL with his wife, Kit. In his newfound free time, you can find him enjoying the Florida weather year-round and enjoying time with his family, kids, and grandkids.

Kit Vautier | CFO

Kit spent 25 years in the Accounting Department of an Independent Testing Laboratory. Though no stranger to communications with three children and a husband who traveled every week for client coaching, she played a dedicated company role when John started Vautier Communications in 2004. For the first three years, she helped with all the behind-the-scenes work; material organization, shipping, scheduling, and financials. She officially joined as CFO in 2007 and is the heartbeat of the company!

Kit manages all personnel, financials, and client billing services.

She and John left the greater Chicago area in 2021 and now reside in their beautiful retirement home in Venice, FL. When she’s not crunching numbers, you can find Kit outside in the Florida sun and coordinating events with their extended family, kids, and grandkids.

John J. Vautier | Coach & Vice President of Sales

“If you just communicate, you can get by. If you communicate skillfully, you can work miracles.” – Jim Rohn

John believes in the power of effective communication. Vautier Communications was founded in 2004 by John Sr., and that’s when John began his interest in communication. He sees a person’s ability to communicate effectively as a whole life skill, and one of the single most impactful ‘hard skills’ one can develop for success in the personal and professional setting. His vision is to continue empowering the corporate world's future leaders through communication.

John has worked with a range of companies from Fortune 500 through Fortune 4 across all industries, stateside and globally. He’s helped build and execute interactive, engaging learning experiences for all levels of business, spanning early career development up to senior level and c-suite. John also co-authored both of Vautier Communications’ books, Speak As Well As You Think, with his father, John Sr., and Mastering Executive Presence, with his twin sister, Jenn.

John lives in the Denver, CO area with his wife and son. When he isn’t coaching, you can find him hiking, fishing, or spending time outdoors with their dog.

Jennifer Alex | Coach & Vice President, Sales & People

“Just start. Start slow if you have to. Start small if you have to. Start privately if you have to. But just start.” – James Clear

Jenn believes in helping everyone find their inner confidence as a speaker. As John Sr.’s daughter, she’s been around the communication skills space for as long as she can remember. She began her career as a high school educator, where she taught, ran the state and national school testing, and coached girls swimming. She knows if you can talk to high school students, you can talk to just about anyone! She joined the company in 2013 and with her passion for teaching, hopes to continue creating lifelong learners in her clients.

Jenn is thrilled to create new relationships with all clients, but one of her proudest moments as an account executive and coach was bringing the Vautier program, specifically their Train-the-Trainer course, into Ohio University for students and faculty. Learning this skill set early in life is a career differentiator. She also co-authored Vautier Communications’ second book, Mastering Executive Presence, with her twin brother, John. While she never envisioned becoming an author, it was a fulfilling project and a lasting footprint they’ll leave at Vautier Communications.

Jenn lives in the Seattle, WA area with her husband, son, and three dogs. When she isn’t coaching, you can find her outside exploring, in her home gym, or reading a book.

Matthew Naser | Coach & Account Executive

“You only get one chance to make a first impression” – Unknown

Matt believes in the power of communication as a tool to build your personal brand. He got his start in the communications field while running a corporate recruiting team at CVS, and now envisions coaching new career talent globally.

Matt has always enjoyed creating conversations and relationships no matter the industry or group of people.  His proudest achievement as a young professional was his time designing a variety of messaging material for corporate executives. He attributes this as the driving force behind his transition to the communications industry.

He is happy to call Connecticut home. When he’s not coaching, you can find him golfing, playing lacrosse, and coaching high school sports.
